Snowfall

Tonight is the second day we’ve had snow this year, and it’s coming down. What you see here may not look like much, but had been falling only a little over an hour by the time I took this photo. It was falling heavily at the time, but this is a time exposure and so the falling snow is not visible. (Click for a larger image.)
It should be quite a blanket on the ground by the time it stops, probably around of just after midnight.
Everything looks nice and tranquil.
BTW, what kind of scooter do you motor around on?
I have a 150cc Taiwonese make, E-Ton, that was cheap, but has been just wonderful. So curious about what you have.
I have a Suzuki Address 125G. In Japan, 125cc is the top limit of the smallest motorcycle license, the one I got many years back. The Suzuki Address is a popular model as it is one of the cheapest in the market here, but is pretty good quality. Naturally, since I take the train to work and have a car now, I don’t use it nearly as much as I used to (I would commute with it all the time when I lived in Ikebukuro), but I still use it for certain things.
The snow is visible in whitening and fogging of farther objects. The house looks pristine. How old is it?
Leszek Cyfer makes a good point about the photograph. The lighting in your picture seems subtly extraordinary. It makes the picture quite nice to look at.
In Korea 125cc were about as big as most bikes and scooters seemed to get. I don’t think I ever saw one that was bigger and I was always looking. There was one Suzuki model that I would see that seemed quite popular – it was very sporty looking. Unfortunately Suzuki only sells the massive Bergman scooters in the U.S. (barka loungers on wheels).
Howabout the car, is that a Nissan? I don’t believe they sell that particular model here. I spent only about 24 hours in Japan because of a missed flight, in Narita. But I left the hotel and walked into the local town. The most interesting thing to me, was that there was a series of car dealerships, and there were tons of models that are sold in Japan, of interesting and brilliant designs, that we don’t see in the U.S.. As I recall, lots of box designs to maximize interior space, and some interesting retro designs with soft lines (kind of following the Mini theme). There was a Diahatsu (spell?) dealership with interesting stuff. It seemed to me Japan only exports the tip of the iceberg of what they make. A lot of the good stuff never leaves Japan. The strength, diversity and vitality of Japan’s auto industry has been a constant interest of mine all of my adult life.
The car is a Toyota Vitz, actually, the same as the Yaris (Echo) in the U.S. We bought it used last November.
I think Sachi’s bike could use a little cover.
By the way, this photo was taken late at night. It was a 6-second exposure taken at 9:50 p.m.
