That’s sounds like Rand’s essential summary of Secular Humanism from Anthem.
… and I agree with the commentary.
That’s exactly what it is. You have all these “self-made” wealthy people who got rich because their parents lived for them, their teachers lived for them, their friends lived for them, society lived for them, soldiers died for them, and all preceding generations lived and built and sacrificed for them. These “I did it all by myself” people accepted all of these gifts, then when they got what they wanted, they said, “Why should I give anything to anyone else? No one gave anything to me, and I never asked for it!”
