Schwarzenegger on Gay Marriage

August 30th, 2003

I was alerted to this one by my folks, who said they did a bit of a double-take when they heard it:

Arnold Schwarzenegger, on the Sean Hannity show, was asked about gay marriages.

“I think that gay marriage is something that should be between a man and a woman,” Arnold replied.

Indeed. A man and a woman should have the right to a gay marriage. So should we all.

As a relative of someone who is gay, i feel that gay marriage is fine.I think that not allowing this, is wrong.
I enjoy seeing arnold in the movies etc…but take his opinions on this matter about as seriously as i would if it were coming from someone like dan quayle. They are good people and would be good parents also. Open the curtains and let in some light…..

What kind of reason is that for believing gay marriage is ok? Just because you have a relative who’s gay.
Lets see here now about that reasoning.
I had a relative who died of aids…..sooooooo the logic should be I hate the gay life that led him to this death in the first place? Rediculous!!
A better reason would be that you don’t care any about the moral decline in society and thus we should let anything be ok as long as it does not make my life uncomfortable.
I am very uncomfortable regarding this issue of gay marriage and have some excellent reasons.
If you are going to give a defense for something, you had better make it worthwhile to listen to.

I had a relative who died of aids…..sooooooo the logic should be I hate the gay life that led him to this death in the first place? Rediculous!!Who the hell are you responding to? Nobody here said anything about dying of AIDS. Your reasoning is about as good as your spelling.
I am very uncomfortable regarding this issue of gay marriage and have some excellent reasons. And the fact that you did not post those “excellent” reasons suggests that your reasoning can be toppled by simple debate, ergo your unwillingness to spell them out.
If you are going to give a defense for something, you had better make it worthwhile to listen to.Good idea. You should follow it. too bad you wimped out.
