Pennsylvania, Ohio, and now Florida

Polling trends; Obama is blue:

Pennsylvania:

Ohio:

Florida:

And hey, look at Virginia:

While McCain has Texas strongly, Obama has California, New York, and Illinois just as strongly. Meanwhile, the two are neck-and-neck in Michigan, Missouri–and even Alaska, which is a fairly conservative state. Heck, Obama is even creeping up on McCain in Arizona.

And we’re off and running….

This is something that Kos, on DailyKos, has been preaching for a while- even if Obama won’t win some of these states in the long run, he makes more of them competitive than Clinton would have. Clinton would have had a BETTER chance at winning in some of these places, but overall would have put fewer states “in play”.

By forcing McCain and the Repugs to play defense in more places, Obama can and almost certainly will find the weak points and be able to attack more strongly there.

It’s exciting to see a Democratic candidate who not only has a good chance at winning but doesn’t have to resort to being a Republican-lite to do so.
