The Catholic Church Attacks Sachi

They just declared Reiki to be “heretical.” Why? Among other reasons, it’s because only god can heal, and only if you pray for it. Reiki, apparently, is cheating–getting your healing through a non-authorized outlet. They also claimed that somehow Reiki forbids the use of other treatments (not from anything I have heard) and again that makes it a competitor to the brand of spiritual healing the church offers.
What that means is that Reiki, according to the bishops, contradicts the first half of the Ten Commandments, which, in summary, declares “thou shalt tolerate no competitors.” Religion can be like that.
