3D Browsing

While IE8 is still languishing in the backwaters of browser incompatibility (scoring dead last with the Acid3 test and being the slowest browser out there), Apple is forging ahead with the future of browsing without Microsoft’s permission. Already Safari has all kinds of special CSS animations, but 3D animations are on their way via the WebGL project. Watch what’s possible, keeping in mind that these are not video files but actual 3D rendering performed by Safari’s WebKit:
