Which Religion Was That?

July 25th, 2003

News story from the Associated Press:

“An increasing number of Americans believe that Islam is more likely than other religions to promote violence among its followers, according to a new survey….”

From a month ago:

“God told me to strike at al Qaida and I struck them, and then he instructed me to strike at Saddam, which I did, and now I am determined to solve the problem in the Middle East.” — George W. Bush (actual quote)

Can you actually count someone who believes he is God as a member of the Christian faith? 😉

Bush’s own church doesn’t agree with his “mission from God” and neither does the Pope. Seeing as how the man can’t even interpret messages from his own staff, I don’t know if we can trust him to interpret messages from God with any certainty.

I wrote about a somewhat similar topic just a bit ago: The Madness of King George.

Its not a matter of how interprets a message from God: God will let him know. If you knew anything of the Christian faith you would know that this man is of God.

This is a man who, as Governor of Texas, cruelly mocked a born-again Christian woman on death row, a woman who had reformed as was doing good works. He mocked her in a piping, whining voice, used the word “f***” repeatedly, and then let her die. This as reported by Tucker Carlson, a far-right-wing journalist who approves of Bush.

That’s what you call a Christian man?

Have you not considered the idea that you’ve been fooled by the public image of a man who may even believe he is Christian, but of whom you would be ashamed if you saw what he really is?

And if you don’t think that such is possible, how arrogant does that make you?

right back at you with your last comment: is it not possible that you got your facts mixed up? And I do venture to say that if Bush did say and do those things, he’s not perfect and the difference between him and non christians is that he would have asked for forgiveness. We never know if people are born-again Christians. WE dont know that the woman was a Christian. And I encourage you to look at his behavior now rather than just staying in the past.
