A Conversation with Right-Wingers

December 23rd, 2007

Based on a true story!

AL GORE: During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet. I took the initiative in moving forward a whole range of initiatives that have proven to be important to our country’s economic growth and environmental protection, improvements in our educational system.

RIGHT WINGER #1: You say that you INVENTED the Internet all by YOURSELF???

AL GORE: No, I said I took the initiative….

RIGHT WINGER #2: He “invented” the Internet! Haw Haw! Yeah, and I “invented” my dog!

ROBERT KAHN AND VINCENT CERF, CREATORS OF THE INTERNET: No one in public life has been more intellectually engaged in helping to create the climate for a thriving Internet than Al Gore.

RIGHT-WINGER #1: Gore said he “invented” the Internet! Haw! What a lying jackass! Haw haw!

MITT ROMNEY: I saw my father march with Martin Luther King. You can see what I believed and what my family believed by looking at, at our lives. My dad marched with Martin Luther King. In fact, my father and I marched with Martin Luther King Jr. through the streets of Detroit!

RIGHT-WINGER #1: Impressive!

REPORTER #1: Umm, that never happened.

REPORTER #2: Yeah, the story doesn’t check out at all.

MITT ROMNEY: Well, I was speaking figuratively, not literally.

RIGHT-WINGER #2: Well, that’s absolutely reasonable.

RIGHT-WINGER #1: Yeah, I can totally see that.

Hat tip to C&L.
