Ka-Boom
Wow. There was some pretty close lightning after the storm, frequent enough that I figured I might be able to catch some by chance if I did a 15-second exposure at f8.0 pointing out my dining room window. And I got lucky. I actually got two strikes, but the first was at a larger aperture and so was overflooded by the lightning. The second one caught the lightning in the first 5 or 6 seconds, and then I covered the lens with my hand to limit further light. Here’s the result–with a wallpaper-sized version available if you click on the image.
