More Pigeon Photos

July 16th, 2003

A few more photos are available on the Pigeon Page. They’ve lost almost all their yellow fluff now, and are developing the iridescent plumage around the neck, very pretty. One of them has a few splashes of white on the head, making it easy to identify in the future should they come back to visit.

Love the pics of the pigeons!! They’re so cute. Whats this about partly posting the pics in a different place so people who don’t like pigeons don’t have to see them… Bah to people who don’t like pigeons!!

We have an old barn on the property we live on and there are 5 or 6 pigeons living in this barn. My husband wants to fix the barn up into a ‘ahop’. How long does it take for pigeons to ‘nest’ and the babies to learn to fly? Will he be able to take back the barn this year?

    Thanks for your time.

It took about seven-eight weeks from when the eggs were laid to when the piggies left for good (see the whole pigeon category, or try the pigeon photo page). Eggs were laid around June 6-10, piggies left around July 26. Make sure you lay down lots of newspaper or tarp unless tons of bird droppings are not a problem.
