You Can Torture, You Can WireTap, But Don’t Step on My Blue Suede Shoes

May 27th, 2006

Attorney General Alberto Gonzales had no problem with torture. He didn’t blink at violating the Fourth Amendment and spying on Americans without a warrant. He approves of secret prisons.

So what offended him so much that he almost resigned? The possibility that Bush might order him to return evidence from a search of a congressman’s Capitol Hill office.

Good to see that our AG’s got his priorities in order.
