Bush Fumbles Dog

A story went by without many people noticing last week: President Bush, while greeting little leaguers at an airfield in Texas, dropped his dog Barney on the tarmac as Laura Bush tried to hand the Scottish Terrier to him.
Naturally, comedians had a field day. Bill Maher, apparently, kept insisting that Bush had thrown the dog to the ground for some reason. But Jay Leno had the best gag: “Did you see this over the weekend? President Bush dropped his dog Barney. Held the dog–dropped the dog. First he chokes on a pretzel. Then he falls off a scooter. Now he drops a dog. How old is our President, five?” |
