Well, Isn’t That To Be Expected

September 4th, 2007

Funny. I was just reading Fake Steve Jobs go on about how Windows Live is a pile of doo-doo, with his central theme being:

Trust me on this. Nothing in Windows Live will work the way they say it will.

The thing is, I teach a computer class, and though I try to switch as many as I can over to GMail, I know a lot will be using Hotmail. Also, I’ve been seeing and hearing a lot about Windows Live. Like it or not, it’s used by a lot of people, and in the position I’m in, I’d beeter at least know what it all is and have experience with it.

So I go to the sign-up page to start an account. I fill everything out.

And I get the form back, partially blanked out, with this:

0907-Windowslivesignup1

I try it again. And again. Three Five Seven times over ten minutes one hour two hours. Each time, I have to retype the double-password, secret question’s answer, and Captcha field because they blank out. Each time, no luck. Sorry, the server is down.

How right can Fake Steve Jobs be?
