Air America Radio Blogs

April 7th, 2004

Well, with the official web site going up and down on a daily basis, it might be better to just link directly to the main blog pages of the top 3 shows on AAR:

The O’Franken Factor Blog
The Majority Report Blog
The Randi Rhodes Web Site

Oh, and by the way–Nader failed to get enough signatures in one day to qualify for the ballot in Oregon, of all states. Couldn’t even get 1,000 people to sign their names for him in a single day. That’s saying something. So Nader will have to fall back on the option to get 15,000 signatures within a 3-month period. Too bad.

LOVE your site. Found it when doing a search on Japan (about to come over for my 3rd time) and stayed due to your Democratic leanings:) Saw a story today I thought you might find interesting at :

Seems Ashcroft considers ALL pornography a viable targer now.

    Keep up the good work!

I live in redneck country, Orange County California, and I get Los Angeles, CA – KTLK-AM 1150 AM with a great deal of static–I can barely hear it. We need a station here even tho it would be mostly just preaching to the choir. I fully expect someday that my neighbors will torch my house and tar and feather me, but if there is Air America, they might, just might, put it off for a few months.

You don’t really know what it is like in an area where the average person has five years of college but is still an ardent Republican. It is like the Republican pods have taken over the bodies of otherwise nice people. I never thought I would see the day where Americans think that torturing prisoners is the right thing to do. Don’t they know that anyone would say anything under torture? Torturing people only results in data that the torturers want to hear.

So, if you want to justify your position, you torture people to get data that backs you up. It is much more probable that Bush approves torture because it provides some sort of “evidence” to back up his crazy notions, and he desperately needs that just to get to sleep at night. I think it is time to talk about trying Bush as a war criminal.

His actions are as bad as some of the unspeakable things that occurred in Germany in the 1930’s and 40’s–expecially since we now know that Bush was told that his “intelligence” was fabricated before the declaration of war–plus the fact that negotiations were progressing on Saddam’s exile. It looked like Bush was in a rush to get the war started before Saddam was forced out of office. Can’t you just see the sceneario that must have played out decades before: “Daddy, what was your biggest regret when you were president? Well son, it might have been that I didn’t keep going into Bahgdad and remove Saddam when I had the chance. Don’t worry daddy, when I am president I’ll take care of that for you.”

I am really on thin ice here in Orange County–so don’t use my name if you use any of this email. It would be dangerous for me. You see, I ask the Republicans who are unhappy that France and other nations did not back Bush up, I ask them if they would back up China, if China invaded Canada for exactly the same reasons that we used to invade Iraq. I have received threats for just asking that question. When I pose it, you should see their faces, they become grotesque and it reflects their inner turmoil. Then the hate comes out, and the accusations that I am trying to “twist” them. Well, they got that right, I am trying to twist their brains into using logic. But it is just one person trying to convince one other person–at risk of life and limb.

I am ashamed of our government. When I talk to people from other countries they say that the USA seems to be demon possessed and nothing like we used to stand for. Bush has managed to destroy everything that we once stood for. Now we see the price that the Democrats paid when they did not challenge the Florida rulings and the Supreme Court rulings. I hope that mistake is never made again, the world has to be protected from the Republican party.
