Positive Message, Wrong Location

A story I saw at DKos mentions a message on posters and billboards which our taxpayer dollars put up in Iraq as a way to inspire hope in the country torn by war. The message reads:

No matter how strong the storm, it will go away in the end.

Of all places, they put this sign up in the Middle East? Clearly, someone in our PR department is not reading his history. I’m sure the sentiment is appreciated, but I doubt that too many people are reassured by it. Especially when you look up to see the message on a bullet-ridden wall after having just found the headless body of your nth friend/relative discarded in the street.
