Air America to Republicans: Put Up or Shut Up

March 14th, 2007

Right-wingers have been making a huge deal about the Democratic Party pulling out of the proposed Fox News-hosted debate in Nevada. They’re on a roll, claiming that the Democratic Party is “afraid of journalists,” “anti-free-press,” and are comparing Democrats to Communists and Nazis.

So Air America Radio has announced that they will host a debate between the Republican candidates for president.

If the Republicans decline, then we can safely assume that they are afraid of journalists, anti-free-press, Communists and Nazis.

As the old saying goes: “What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.”

Comparing Democrats to Communists? Oh, is that why Fox News is so similar to Pravda (the new post-soviet tabloid version as much as the old official CCCP paper)?

The difference is that there are real journalist working at Fox. Air America is made up of individuals that are little more than washed up comics that are difficult to take seriously.

    Jerry:

Glad I wasn’t drinking milk when I read that. There’d be milk mixed with snot all over my monitor.

Brit Hum is the closest thing to a “journalist” at Fox, and he’s a joke. Real journalists don’t intentionally take quotes out of context to change their meaning, as Hume so clearly did with Roosevelt’s statements on Social Security. There’s so much more, but the upshot is, Fox hosts are not journalists, they’re propaganda hounds dressing up and pretending to be journalists.
