TV Online

OK, how can these guys do this? You’d think there was some law or something preventing the posting of massive amounts of copyrighted material like this. Interesting.

I’ve been looking over this site since you mentioned it. They claim not to host the files themselves, and some of them are clearly on Chinese sites, but it still makes NO sense.

you probably know already there are TV boxes that let you hook up to a LAN connection which allows you to watch whatever local or cable TV you get at home from a remote location thru the internet.

I presume it is perfectly legal to invite your friends over to watch TV.

Andy: I presume you mean the Slingbox? That’d be great, but we figured that upload speeds from the point of origin would suck. Bittorrent works many times faster.

Yeah, I think Bittorent is much better, but it is presumed to have enough peers available. On the other hand, these boxes –forgot what theyre called– encode TV inputs into streaming formats. Quality aside, it works like a streaming server with option to store some limited video in a hard drive, so its watchable if its just you and a few friends.

How is the quality of video on cellphones over there?
