Out the Window
One thing I’ve noticed looking out our window here in Ikebukuro is that you ca see more than I cold see before in Inagi. Sure, you can see farther, but there is also more happening. As Sachi and I sat down for dinner tonight, we heard something, a sound that could have been anything, like a dog barking… but it was much too regular, far too rhythmic. So I opened the balcony door, looked out, and saw a small, local temple festival on the street less than a block from our place.
You know, nothing special. Just another local festival.
It’s a nice view, even if you get tired of the city lights, which I haven’t.
Hi! First of let me say “great blog”!
I found it when I was searching for apartments in Ikeburo on Google. I lived near Ikebukuro for 2 months in 2006, in Kishibojin – you probably know the area, if not check it out. It’s a great little shitamachi neighborhood with a toden and everything. Anyway I ended up meeting a wonderful girl there and a year later we’re married and living back in Brooklyn NY.
When I came across your blog I was like “whoa – Ikebukuro!”. It’s really nice to see pics of the old neighborhood I have a ton of questions I’d like to ask you about living there. Can I drop you an email?
I lived in Ikebukuro for 3 months and loved it… can I drop you an email?
Alex: The comments got through; if you note the message by the comment box, you’ll see that moderation is required. And, as I am incredibly busy lately, I have not had time to go through the comments for a few days (that, and somehow comments stopped coming to me via email for some reason–have to check that out).
Got your email address, will send something off tomorrow. (It’s 3 am now! Gotta get sleep….)
