Tell an American to Vote
It’s a sad note that Americans need to be told this. Fewer than a quarter of eligible American voters “elected” Bush 43* into office (the asterisk indicates that if all eligible voters who tried to vote had been allowed to, or had their votes counted, then it would be Gore 43).
This time, we’d like to see more people vote, in hope of the votes being truly counted this time and not altered electronically or blocked by similar illegalities, or at the very least so that continued voter fraud by Republicans can be offset by enough legitimate votes against Bush.
Additionally, as pointed out by Mark at VuDeja, many voters may not be aware that they are in swing states; Mark tells of a voter he encountered from Wisconsin who thought that their vote may not matter much, when actually it will be of great importance.
And so Mark suggest that everyone visit Tell an American to Vote–which I enthusiastically second. TaAtV is a web site that makes it easier for Americans to get voting materials, and lets anyone inform Americans of everything they need to make sure they are registered and able to vote this November.
So vote, and get every American you know to vote. Every vote will be crucial.
